TAI provided Phase II and Phase III Engineering Services including design, bidding, and construction engineering services to the City of St. Charles for the Fourth Street Reconstruction from Main Street to Walnut Street. This project utilized City of St. Charles funds for the reconstruction of an existing brick street within the historic preservation district. Trotter and Associates was responsible for field investigations including topographic survey, subsurface exploration and utility location.
During the design phase, Trotter and Associates coordinated with City staff and the Illinois Department of Transportation with respect to adjacent Illinois Route 64. During the design phase Trotter and Associates developed final engineering plans and specifications to preserve and reuse the existing brick pavers. In addition to the rehabilitation of the existing street the project included new combination concrete curb and gutter, sidewalks, driveway aprons, utility improvements as required and parkway restoration.
During the construction phase of the project Trotter and Associates was responsible for resident engineering including inspection and project documentation as well as acting as the project liaison with neighboring businesses and residents. This project was complete on time and under budget.
